- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 8-10 equal pieces.
- Shape into rolls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with herbs before baking.
- You can add raisins or cinnamon for variation.
