- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 slices cooked ham
- 1 cup grated Gruyère or Swiss cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry to smooth thickness.
- Cut into 4 squares and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread Dijon mustard on each pastry square. Top with ham slices and grated cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed.
- While baking, fry eggs in butter until whites are set and yolks are runny. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove pastries from oven and top each with a fried egg. Garnish with parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Can substitute with other cheese varieties like cheddar or mozzarella.
- For a crisper base, prebake the pastry for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
