- 1 pound Italian sausage, sliced
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add orzo and cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook until orzo is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Return sausage to the pot and cook until heated through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
