- 1 sleeve saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it begins to boil. Boil for 3 minutes.
- Pour caramel mixture evenly over crackers and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel, and let sit for 2 minutes. Spread the melted chocolate evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts if desired. Chill in refrigerator until set. Break into pieces and serve.
Notes
- For added flavor, sprinkle sea salt on top before chilling.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
